The Salt Mine began serving the city of Lincoln in 1985. Our name comes from the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:13-14, in which He calls us to be the salt and light of the earth. This is a call from the Creator Himself to serve Him with our lives! At the Salt Mine, we want to say "Yes" to that call in any way we are equipped to pursue.

The Salt Mine is a non-profit organization as well as a church. Our main charitable activities at this time are a fully-functioning food closet, homeless assistance, a non-profit Thrift Store, and an after-school youth program.

Our mission and priority is to serve the communities of Lincoln and Sheridan. We aim to help the food insecure, the unhoused, and the youth of this community in any way we possibly can.
