Food Closet

In 2024, The Salt Mine Food Closet received 44,663 requests for help, a 28% increase from the year before. The Salt Mine currently helps 1,800 families in the Lincoln and Sheridan area. 75% of these are families with children and 30% are households with seniors. The Salt Mine gives away fresh food boxes and pantry boxes by curbside pickup, making it easy for clients to drive up and receive the food they need. We give away 12x more fresh items compared to pantry goods. Our community relies on the support of our church family in times of need. Thank you for supporting this ministry and keeping our neighbors fed on a daily basis!

Thrift Store

The Salt Mine is more than a Thrift Store — when you donate and shop, you help keep our neighbors fed!

The Salt Mine Thrift Store is a resource to the Food Closet and our community. We strive to present donated items with excellence and care. The Thrift Store also provides a great opportunity for us to meet people in our community, provide household goods to those in need, and supply the Food Closet with clothing and essential items for our unhoused clients.
