Food Closet
In 2023, The Salt Mine received 32,353 requests for help. Many people in the community rely on the food they receive from The Salt Mine to help them and their families! The Salt Mine currently feeds 1,800 families in the Lincoln and Sheridan area, many of which return on a regular basis. Our community relies on people like you in times of need. Thank you for your support that has kept our neighbors fed!

We aim to give our community the best we can. At the Food Closet, we give away 7x more fresh items compared to pantry goods to ensure our clients receive the food they need for their families. The Salt Mine is now giving away fresh food boxes and pantry boxes by curbside pickup, making it easy for clients to drive up and receive the food they need.
Thrift Store
The Salt Mine is more than a Thrift Store — when you donate and shop, you help keep our neighbors fed!​

The Salt Mine Thrift Store helps fund our Food Closet and other programs while also providing the community with an affordable option for clothing, furniture, and a variety of household goods. We regulate our donations to ensure a quality shopping experience for customers. The Thrift Store also allows us to give away clothing and necessary items to the unhoused on a daily basis.
